In Studio Sessions

Studio Sessions are now available at the Edmond Birthing Center for families looking for classic and posed photos on beautiful clean backgrounds. I often book sessions at the same time as your postpartum visit in order to take some traveling stress off of you.  It is best to book sessions 5-10 days after delivery date, and plan to spend 2-3 hours for your newborn session. Beautiful bowls, crates, and baskets will be provided as well as adorable headbands and and knitted outfits.

Tips for a successful photo- shoot in studio:

  • Before you arrive, keep baby awake for 30 minutes – an hour if possible.
  •  Feed or nurse baby until full.
  •  Keep baby dressed in a button down outfit or one that does not have to be pulled over their head.
  • If you are meeting for postpartum care go ahead and strip baby down to a loose fitting diaper and wrapped in your favorite blanket.
  • If family members are joining in the photographs solid color outfits work best.  Most resort to a solid black or white top.
  • I find baby is more relaxed for photos and will sleep longer if extra family and siblings are not present during the time we spend photographing.  When I am ready to incorporate others into the session I will let you know.
  • If for any reason this is uncomfortable for a family member they are welcome to sit quietly in the same room. Do know the room is small and very warm.  Feel free to dress in layers. If family members choose to stay in the room allow me to quiet and sooth baby on my own.

In Home Sessions

As a mom of four, a can relate to those first postpartum weeks. New commotion arises as visitors make their way in and out of your home, your body is sore, and the thought of having to pack a diaper bag for the first time is overwhelming.  I understand the need to just be home, heal your body, and soak up every moment with your new baby.  Because of this, I offer custom in home sessions from the comfort of your living room or nursery.  In home sessions are a relaxed, intimate peek into your lives at home. Photos will be unposed, and will capture you just as you are in your home.  I also take care to capture all the details of the nursery that you carefully planned for 9 month, and give you portraits that you'll be able to show your child as they grow and tell them all about the house they came home to when they were born.  Most session last 2 hours in your home.  If weather permits I am happy to venture outside for the most unique and beautiful newborn photos. Outdoor photos have the choice of being posed with beautiful handpicked props.  Family members, and fur-children are welcomed in the photos as well. Clients living with 45 minutes of the Edmond Birthing Center qualify for in home sessions. A $50 travel and convenience fee will be added to sessions.
